    MADAME HENDREN/Character Doll/Costume Pat. May 9th, 1916
    ,
    native American Indian
, composition head dolls, largest measuring aprox. 10 1/2" tall and 14" tall. This charming pair of costume dolls were
manufactured by The Averill Manufacturing Co., New York with Georgene Averill (trade name:
    Mme. Hendren
    , 1915)
designing the outfits. Both dolls are in good (unrestored) original condition with no damages or repaint. They each have composition flange-neck heads with beautifully molded and painted features,
    jointed arms and legs
, brown and pink cloth bodies, brown composition arms and nice black mohair wigs. The smaller daughter doll needs some repainting of her arms where paint has flaked off over the years.
Each doll wears all their original, brightly colored
    red
    and
    tan
    felt outfit with
    co
    lo
    rf
    ul
glass beads, fringe and felt lacing trim
    including moccasins
and headband. There are a few tiny moth holes that do not distract and their hair needs some attention (considering they are 100 years old)! (loc 24) The rest of this family (shown in last few photos) are listed separately and not included.
