Rare pair of 19th Century Dolls
18-1/2" Tall George Washington:
Beautifully hand crafted/tailored clothes with sewn buttons, leather shows, buckles, and Hair
17" Martha Washington:
Even more intricate and beautifully tailored clothing
Both dolls have stuff cloth bodies, Stitched white leather arms, and some kind have wood/composite heads that were hand painted.
Believed to have come from the Centennial Exposition, Philadelphia, 1876
Very nice and unusual addition to any doll collection!
Condition:
Good antique condition. Both heads show some chipping and loss and some discoloration on the faces. Section of George's hair is missing on the back. Clothes are all intact and show light wear and discoloration overall, stored well. Do not stand. Please inspect photos and feel free to ask for more, or specific questions on condition. What you see is what you get!
