Th Museum is pleased to present material from the Geoffry Drake Collection. Geoffrey was an Oscar / BAFTA nominated Production Designer, Art Director and Visual Efx Artist on classic hits like Jason and the Argonauts, Sinbad and Eye of the Tiger, Bridge on the River Kwai, Guns of Navarrone and more. Geoffrey’s collection also contains material from George Drake, his father, who was an artist and visual efx man for Disney in the 1930’s. The Drakes operated a boutique prop, wardrobe and efx manufacturing operation. Other maker's film materials were also found in storage with their collection. Each piece from this archive comes with a COA from the Museum of Mom and Pop Culture to ensure the Drake family provenance.
*This lot is for a delicate and detailed ancient Roman Helmet - It is a vintage and original Stage Prop / Wardrobe piece from the Brooks-Van Horn Rental House in NY / Philadelphia - Can not ascribe a date, but this piece is old with old original label - It is among the oldest items found in the Drake material - It came from a stage wardrobe house, but may well have been used in feature films - perhaps even very early film. One thing is for sure, it has strutted across many a stage - and maybe found its way in some movies, too.

*OVERALL CONDITION: Fair to Good I'd say - Visor is a separate element - This helmet delicate, with bends and breaks and loose and missing elements - but as you can see, she's grande! Give this venerated beauty a new home and the TLC she deserves and she'll shine in your collection.

If more than this time has passed, check at your local post office in person - often these days packages are held for pickup and consumers are not notified - or your shipment may be held up in customs.
